The Garden – Bass Solo Album Celebration Concert

The Garden is a collection of compositions for solo bass by Asuka Kakitani, inspired by the quiet resilience and vitality of plant life. Drawing on themes of growth, strength, and interconnectedness found in the natural world, the music unfolds as a meditative journey through sound. Performed by Wisconsin-based bassist Mark Urness, the recording will be released soon on Neuma Records and showcases the instrument’s remarkable depth and range in an intimate, reflective setting.

Please join us for this special celebration! The event is open to the public, with free admission for all.

Asuka Kakitani is a fiscal year 2025 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
